Skilllot has the most in-depth yet easy-to-follow free tutorials for building a website using WordPress that I have found. Very PRE-beginner friendly. They cover every detail so you fully understand every link, icon, etc. on the Dashboard. They cover plug-ins (which I now understand thanks to them), and they cover so much more.

I recommend using the Kadence Theme in WordPress. It is very beginner friendly and it is updated regularly. If you happen to pick a theme that is not updated regularly, you could put a WHOLE lot of work into your website only to find that when you publish it, nothing works like it is supposed to and you are back to square one. Been there, done that way too many times before I found Skilllot. Skilllot not only teaches you what the purpose of a Theme is, they teach you how to know if a Theme is updated regularly.
